Haight Street location
In 2010, we moved to Hayes Valley and continued to grow, opening a second location in the Valencia Corridor in 2012 and a third in the Inner Sunset in 2014. In 2019, we relocated our flagship to the heart of Haight-Ashbury, where Cary Lane continues to call home today.
After more than a decade of expansion, we made the decision in 2024 to consolidate our stores and focus our energy on our Haight Street flagship—and on what we’ve always done best.
For over 18 years, Cary Lane has built relationships with established designers, independent labels, showrooms, and brands from around the world, giving us access to samples, overstock, past-season pieces, and limited-run merchandise at a fraction of traditional retail prices.
Our inventory is constantly changing, with new finds arriving regularly and discounts of up to 80% off original retail. From recognizable names to brands you may be discovering for the first time, we’re always searching for pieces we think are worth putting on the racks.

Cary and his classic 1963 Porsche 356
The name Cary Lane comes from founder Cary Lane LaScala, whose background in fashion began long before opening the first store. Cary spent several years as a Head Buyer for both a leading luxury e-commerce retailer and a multi-million-dollar upscale department store, experience that helped shape Cary Lane’s approach to buying, merchandising, and discovering brands.
As Cary Lane grew, Cary expanded into design and launched his own menswear label, Cary LaScala, in 2010. Inspired by European style and tailoring, the collection began with men’s woven shirts designed in San Francisco with an emphasis on clean design, fit, and quality.
In 2023, the Cary LaScala label began expanding into a more complete menswear collection, including overshirts, jackets, denim, chinos, T-shirts, sweaters, leather belts, and footwear.
Outside of fashion, Cary is also a professionally endorsed session and touring drummer who has performed nationally and internationally. His recording credits include projects released through Warner Bros. Records, TVT Records, and Bright Antenna Records, among others. He is endorsed by Ludwig Drums, Soultone Cymbals, and London Drumstick Company. You can learn more about his music career at carylascala.com.
